Pregnancy  massage

Pregnancy massge, bantry.Noreen has been providing pregnancy massage in Bantry for nearly 20 years years.  Pregnancy massage  is  a  safe  and  gentle  method  of  supporting  your  body  through  the  natural changes  of  pregnancy.  Pregnancy massage  soothes  any  tension  or  discomfort  the  mother  is experiencing.   The  mother  will  also  be  shown  simple  exercises,   which  she  can use  to  relax  her  mind  and  body.   Each  treatment  is  adapted  to  the  mother's needs,  which  are  changing  from  week  to  week.   The  treatment  is  also  adapted  for each  trimester,  for  example  in  late  pregnancy  the  treatment  would  be  focused  on birth  preparation  and  making  the  mother  as  comfortable  as  possible.   A  combination  of  massage  with  energy  work, Reiki,  will  be  used  to  ease  aches  and  pains and  reduce  stress.   The  birthing  partner  may  attend  a  treatment  and  be  shown some  simple  massage  strokes,  which  can  be  used  during  the  pregnancy  and  in labour.

Benefits Of Infant Massage

Touch is one of the most significant and nurturing early experiences your baby will have.  Research has shown that these early experiences can affect many aspects of our lives.  Nurturing touch has long-term benefits and can impact how we think, feel, and relate to others, and most importantly, how we value and care for ourselves. Infant massage greatly enhances the early bonding relationship between parents and caregivers and their babies. By using gentle, tactile stimulation along with loving verbal communication, a wonderful bonding experience is shared.  Strokes can be either stimulating or relaxing, depending on your baby’s needs and developmental level.

Infant Massage benefits your baby in the following specific ways:

Colic & Wind

 Soothes Baby

Massage stimulates the respiratory, circulatory and digestive systems.
Enhances neurological(brain and nerve) development
 Build Immunity
 Help Gain Weight

Aids The Bonding Process

Assists recovery from Post-Natal Depression

Parents  are  shown  how  to  massage  their  babies  using  a  simple  routine.  They are encouraged  and  supported  to  bond  and  communicate  with  their  babies.  Both  baby and  parent  relaxes.  It is nice for  parents to have an excuse to slow down and enjoy getting to know their baby.

Noreen teaches baby massage to the Babytalk group which is run in the HSE centre in the Maritime hotel Bantry by the Bantry Community Development Centre.

Alternatively, Noreen also provides private one to one classes in her massage clinic.  Noreen keeps the one to one classes at a reasonable rate as she feels baby massage is something every baby should have the oppurtunity of experiencing.

Whether you attend the group or private classes all you need to bring is yourself and your baby.  Noreen provides the oil and notes to take home and the room is set up for your massage.

Reiki  is  the  Japanese  word  for  universal  life  energy.   Reiki  combines  the  utilization of  the  lifeforce  that  is  present  in  all  living  things  -ki-  with  the  warm  reassurance and  healing  power  of  human  touch.  Reiki  is  a  gentle  yet  powerful  non-invasive treatment,  the  client  remains  fully  clothed  throughout  the  treatment.   During  the treatment  the  practitioner  will  place  their  hands  gently  on  different  positions  of  the body  and  let  the  healing  energy  of  Reiki  flow.   This  increases  and  balances  energy,  releases  stress  and  deeply  relaxes,  helps  release  emotions  and  assists  the  body's  natural  ability  to  heal.  Reiki is a beautiful, deeply relaxing and recharging treatment.  It is safe in pregnancy and for people with serious health problems.
